Jessica Yardley is an attorney and before that she was the wife of a serial killer. Years later she is approached by the FBI. They’ve discovered a copycat killer and it appears the killer is copying Jessica’s ex-husband, Eddie Cal. Jessica doesn’t want to dwell on Eddie and his grotesque life and she has a special man in her life, Wesley Paul, who cares about her and wants to always be with her.

After some moments of deep thought, Jessica agrees to talk with Eddie even though it turns her stomach. During her visit she finds the same manipulative man she married. She, unfortunately, was pregnant when Eddie was discovered and caught by police. Now he acts as if he has important info and will share it only if he receives a visit from their teenage daughter, Tara. Jessica has tried to be a good and protective parent, but her nature is to always be in control. Tara has reached the age where she wants to make more of her own decisions and that is how she comes to visit her father.

This is a great story – lots of suspense, a lot of ‘who done it’ action and then, of course, the phenomenal ending that I loved.
